The Cincinnati Chapter of the Society
of Professional Journalists has a wide array of journalists and other
media experts - from business writers to Web
journalists to journalism professors - to speak to your classroom,
school event, neighborhood meeting or other community event.
SPJ
is a nearly 95-year-old broad-based media organization with chapters across the
country and nearly 10,000 members. Cincinnati's SPJ chapter was founded in 1967.
Locally, members come from newspaper, television, radio and Web-based media
organizations.
Our speakers can address any number of
journalism-related issues, share information on how the media works and how news is
gathered and reported, plus answer your group's questions about a wide range of
issues affecting the Greater Cincinnati area and the nation. Journalists
can bring samples of their publication or broadcast and discuss in detail how
they do their jobs.
Speakers are available in a 50-mile radius
from downtown Cincinnati. There is no fee to use the speakers bureau.
Other factors, such as scheduling conflicts
and topics covered, must be coordinated between the speaker and a designee with
the organization where the speaker is requested. Changes and special requests by
the organization are at the discretion of the speaker.
SPJ asks respect when requesting a speaker,
including accurate and timely information and early notice for cancellations.
