At the Plum Street Temple:

Television journalist TIM RUSSERT, moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," will present his view of Washington politics on Thursday, May 1  at 7:15 pm at Plum Street Temple, 726 Plum Street. In addition to his Sunday morning show, Russert is a political analyst for "NBC Nightly News" and "Today," and anchors "The Tim Russert Show" on MSNBC. He's also a senior vice president and Washington bureau chief for NBC News. Tickets are $75 per person. For more information, call (513) 793-2556. ROBIN WRIGHT, the diplomatic correspondent for The Washington Post, leads a talk titled “The Future of the Middle East: Dreams and Shadows,” on Sunday, April 13, 2008, 7:00 pm, Schiff Family Conference Center. Sunday, April 13, 2008, 3:00 pm, Edgecliff Recital Hall. Wright is the author of Sacred Rage: The Wrath of Militant Islam and The Last Great Revolution: Turmoil and Transformation in Iran. Her forthcoming book is entitled Dreams and Shadows: The Future of the Middle East. She has worked for a number of major newspapers in the United States and Great Britain including the Los Angeles Times, the Sunday Times of London and the Christian Science Monitor. In 2003 she was awarded the United Nations correspondents’ Gold Medal for coverage of international affairs. In that same year she became a regular panelist on the Meet the Press roundtable. This event is co-sponsored by the American Jewish Committee.

CYNTHIA TUCKER embodies the theme of the Harriet  Beecher Stowe Lecture - writing to change the world. She is editorial page  editor of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a syndicated columnist  whose commentary appears in more than 70 newspapers around the country.  Tucker's weekly column "As I See It," won the Pulitzer Prize for commentary in  2007. In her capacity as editorial page editor, Ms Tucker is responsible for  guiding the development of the Journal-Constitution's opinion policies on  everything from foreign policy issues to local school board races. Come meet a  writer who is making a difference with her writing every day.
